Design DNA

Combine multiple visibly assembled image, lettering, and/or graphic fragments with deliberate overlaps or contact, contrasting scale, and an irregular composition. Maintain a readable headline/navigation layer distinguishable from decoration; exact placement and size vary.

Keep

  • Several distinct image, type, or graphic fragments composed as a visibly assembled whole.
  • Some overlap/contact or conspicuous layered relationship, with scale/angle contrast; not every fragment must overlap.
  • A readable message/navigation hierarchy distinguishable from decorative fragments.

Change

  • Cutout photography, hand-drawn annotations, 3D/letterform objects, or interface/file motifs; the material mix varies by reference.
  • Bright or limited palettes, pale fields, dark fields, and photographic backdrops are all possible; no palette is universal.
  • Floating detached motifs around a central composite or edge-to-edge collage treatment.
  • Original campaign, industry, brand, wording, imagery, gallery frame, and capture state.
  • Specific colors, font family, black outlines/drop shadows, exact fragment count, and exact layout.
  • Whether source screenshot is gallery-submitted or current live version; do not infer equivalence.

Avoid

  • Do not copy the reference identity, written content, trademarks, or distinctive branded artwork.
  • Do not reproduce a gallery monitor, browser frame, or photographed device that merely presents the original website.
  • Do not substitute a generic card-and-gradient landing page if it removes an essential rule.
  • Do not turn a failed image, cookie overlay, loading indicator, or blank capture into a design invariant.
On a new subjectFor an unrelated community science initiative, combine new field photographs, a large expressive but original title, and a few schematic or hand-drawn fragments in a visibly assembled hero. Keep the real navigation readable and distinct from the collage; adapt palette and copy to the new audience.

Specs

Decathlon Yestalgia: central photograph and angular layered title with bright outlined lettering; additional geometric motifs, pale inset field, and detached compact menu/shop controls.

Garaje Inspiration Fest: large central dimensional purple letterform and textured object with small labeled GIF/file fragments spread across a pale framed stage; compact bottom navigation.

Stuff BY Kris Temmerman: oversized expressive lettering, cutout portrait and illustrated character, arrows and smaller label fragments form an overlapping editorial composition.

Soft Power: sports imagery, angular central graphic/type panel, cropped surrounding campaign panels and bold red/orange/black areas; compact upper navigation.

Boundary Meech213 shows image panels floating separately over a large white page with quiet labels; it overlaps in image-led freedom but lacks the same emphatic multi-material campaign collage.

Estimate

Layer roughly 4–10 graphic or photographic fragments around expressive display type; vary scale and angle while reserving a quiet navigation layer.
